The massive exodus from organized religion has changed every congregation. It has sent many into oblivion and innumerable others into shocking decline and alien territory.
Formats Of The Gods is an 95k word memoir of ideas and rock and roll; inner development and the awesome power of music. It’s a decades- long coming of age (and more) story of dynamics readers haven’t likely named but will quickly recognize in their own lives.
A unique perspective from inside professional ministry illumines psychological dynamics initially inherited from family, then personally collected like records, honed by a maturing love for accuracy, and finally broadened by a life-affirming pluralism. Reader’s own paths will be newly recalled and treasured, along with nostalgia prompting deeper listening not just to their favorite rock and roll gods but to the inner conversation as well.
